So I was reading the comments from an article about Georgia cutting state funds from domestic violence shelters...
"Plus, lets think about this if a single woman needs a domestic violence shelter, shouldn’t she have taken just a little responsibility for being in the situation?"
….Excuse me, but are you trying to say that the VICTIM should take some responsibility for being ABUSED simply because they are not married to the ABUSER???? No victim should ever take on the responsibility of the perpetrator’s actions. That’s the entire idea of being a victim. IT’S NOT THEIR FAULT YOU FUCKING IDIOT. It makes no difference if they’re married or not. An intimate partner of any kind whether in hetero or homosexual relationships, married or not married, can be a victim/abuser in an abusive relationship.
And stop grouping people! “womens groups, like most liberals..” SHUT YOUR FUCKING FACE! Not all women’s groups are liberal and not all liberals are the same. Just like some conservatives don’t shove their views down other people’s throats. The shelters are upset because the federal money in question comes from a group that has a main goal of encouraging the formation and maintenance of two-parent families and discouraging and preventing out-of-wedlock pregnancies.
This could possibly keep shelters from accepting single mothers and/or single women simply because they had an out-of-wedlock pregnancy and/or failed to “maintain” their two-parent family. If abuse is involved, the relationship DOES NOT need to be maintained. Oh and these single mothers/women are the MAJORITY of the women that seek help from shelters, but you probably didn’t look that up before you decided to blame them for being beaten by someone else.
I want to punch in the face so bad right now, I can’t even…
i actually learned about foreskin restoration a few years ago on LJ (lol). there are wesbites dedicated to the service and men who are goddamn angry that their foreskins were taken away without consent.
I saw that episode! It was really interesting to me because I had never heard about the problems or anger that men had with circumcision. The process he created looked painful, but it worked. Good for him for doing something about it.
I’m not the biggest fan of attendance policies. I’m glad she spared you though. I had an experience quite similar. Like, I thought I was going to get a B, but she ended up giving me an A. Thank goodness I didn’t put anything negative.
Hooray for surprise A’s! Thank goodness they don’t read that shit until AFTER they give you your grades. I gave her a fair review on the multiple choice part, but the comments box was full
